New President of Southern States Soccer Rambod Rouhbakhsh

Southern States Soccery are pleased to announce Dr. Rambod Rouhbakhsh of Laurel, Mississippi as our new President. Dr. Rouhbakhsh hails from the northwest region of the U.S. and was team physician for the Portland Timbers during his time there. A former collegiate player himself he has two children playing in the program and is married to wife Darcy. Dr. Rouhbakhsh is the Associate Program Director for the Forest General Hospital Family Medicine Residency and the CMO of BeneMedical.


Frank LaRussa newly appointed Vice-President (Birmingham)

Frank LaRussa

Dr. Frank LaRussa, Vice-President is a long time native of Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. LaRussa has more than 20 years experience as a parent and fan of youth soccer. He and his wife Christine have five children, the youngest ‘Topher’ plays on The Academy 2003 team.



Carl Reynolds

Carl is our Director of Player Development and is pictured here with Jordi Alba of Barcelona during 'The Academy's tour to Europe. Carl was a two-time All-American at William Carey University and was also a graduate assistant there before moving on to coach in Spain at La Liga club Sporting Gijon. He returned to the U.S. to  take up a coaching position at the MLS New York Red Bulls academy where he was highly respected. As a player in England, Carl came through the academy system at Chelsea, Reading and Swindon. After college he turned down an opportunity to play professionally in Honduras but did play for Chattanooga FC in the NPSL.


Nigel Boulton

Nigel Boulton

Nigel is our Director of Soccer Operations and founded Southern States Soccer in 2015 before linking up again with Carl Reynolds who he had coached at William Carey University. Together with a strong parental group and investment from new ownership the organization has grown exceptionally quickly and strong. Nigel has vast experience as a state director of coaching at two different states, as a professional coach both at home in his native Wales and here in the U.S. as well as 12 years of coaching experience at the college level.

Sid and Wendy Reynolds

Sid and Wendy are part of the ownership group of Southern States Soccer and are very much hands-on owners. Sid owns a company that is a custom builder of high end construction projects and brings his expertise to the construction demands of The Oakes Training Center. Wendy is an experienced office manager and runs the day to day business of the company. Daughter Jade coaches on the girls side with the Player Development Program and second son Danny is a junior left full-back at NCAA D1 UNC-Wilmington.
